I am trying to trace living relatives of Flight Sergeant Douglas Morris who was killed in an air crash on January 7,1944 in Rudgwick, Surrey. A memorial is being planned and will be placed near the crash site later this year. I am trying to contact relatives of the crew so they can be invited to the memorial service when it happens. Of the seven man crew, Douglas is the only one that is proving difficult.
Originally from Ebbw Vale, the family moved to Abergavenny. Douglas was the only son of Lewis John and Alice May Morris. Alice's maiden name was White. Alice had a sister, Gladys White who married Thomas Bannister. They had two children, Thomas Ivor Percy Bannister who was born in Hereford in 1906 and Mary Elizabeth Bannister who was born in Leominster in 1912. Some of their children have connections to Upton-upon-Severn and Worcester.
I would be grateful if any of your readers could help in this quest. If you can help George, email him at beale.george@yahoo.com
