I WAS at a parish council meeting attended by the local councillor and it became apparent that Herefordshire Council’s push to increase housing in the county is a revenue-generating exercise to accommodate the loss of the central grant by 2020.
The council is not responsible for the provision of support services which will be required for an increase in population, such as hospital services, and they appear to be ignoring the consequences of their actions to promote increased house-building throughout the county.
The opportunity to provide or at least consider a holistic approach to the economic and housing development of Herefordshire is being missed.
Let’s get all the stakeholders working together for once.
