I WRITE in reference to your article headed ‘Students respect fallen war heroes’ (Hereford Times, August 6).
I was one of the members of the local community lucky enough to accompany Lady Hawkins School, Kington on their school trip to the battlefields of the First World War in Belgium and northern France. The history department deserves to be congratulated on an excellent educational tour and an unforgettable extracurricular activity.
The students behaved impeccably, showing constant respect and were a credit to the school and the wider community.
I remain a proud past pupil of Lady Hawkins.
