I AM the first to acknowledge the great work our members of the armed forces and particularly those based at Credenhill do for us – but why are we local residents now subjected to helicopters flying into the base at midnight almost every day?
There can be no logical, or indeed operational, reason for this that I as an ex-serviceman of 20 years’ experience can identify and one must question whether the helicopter is being used appropriately.
It does seem to be being used more as a personal taxi service for ‘someone’ on the camp late at night rather than for moving those extremely well-trained and well-disciplined troops to or from an appropriate task.
