I WENT to the Courtyard to listen and watch the Hereford Gilbert and Sullivan Operatic Society's concert and it was an evening to remember.
It started with a melody from The Pirates of Penzance. Then a surprise: on marched children from St Martin's School led by a group of very small policemen, followed by many more children as they marched on singing When the Foreman Bares his Steel, not only singing but doing all the actions.
They were brilliant and the society then went on to give a performance of The Zoo, never before performed by the society.
Act two consisted of many of Gilbert and Sullivan's works all very well sung and acted.
One thing that I noticed was the number of young people on stage.
This society should be praised for giving the younger ones a chance to show their skills.
