NOW that our government have announced that vast sums of money are to be spent on improvements to the nation’s road system, will our two MPs and the county council ensure that some of that cash comes to Herefordshire?
Without that input, the council will no doubt ensure that those who develop new housing in the county will pay a “developer contribution” to cover the provision of roads, schools and the new river crossing that will be necessary.
Of course, any such contribution will be passed on to the house buyer, and one estimate I saw put that at around £30,000 per dwelling, which could make “affordable” housing unaffordable.
Can we have comments from our MPs please?
