I READ with interest last weeks’ letter about the remembrance parade and service in Hereford from John Norton MM (Parade was an insult).
I have attended most of the services over the years, however this year’s was an insult to all those who perished in both the first and second world wars to give us the freedom we now enjoy.
As for the collection for the British Legion during the service, myself and many others where I was standing had money to give, yet no Scout came near enough with the collection bucket.
There was not even a march past this year, something I look forward to at the end of the service each year.
Let’s just hope that next year’s service will be better organised.
