I would like to thank everyone involved with the Borderlines Film Festival at the Courtyard Theatre. I saw over 20 films, 7 of which were previews. Most of them were excellent.
All of them, I was glad I had seen. The arrangements and staff at the Courtyard - the box office, stewards, especially the catering - were wonderful, and there was a real buzz of appreciation.
People were friendly and open, remarking on the special nature of the experience.
The films revealed different cultures but common humanity. Social order, personal relationships, extremes and the ordinary were all revealed - underlaid with the potential for change that deeper understanding brings. And people wanted to share their views together. That is why the Arts are so important. What a privilege to have such quality locally.
I gather this was the most successful Festival yet in terms of audience.
I trust that even more will be able to experience this next year.
