I WRITE with some sympathy for Anita Sancha (Readers’ Times, July 11). I too agree that there have to be military manoeuvres and so on.
I too wonder what the reason is for hovering above mostly residential areas for hours at a time.
I used to live in Bobblestock and back then we had the hovering phenomenon. In 1993 or 1994, whenever the last summer was, I had a day off and lay reading and dozing for several hours in the sun (oh, that lazy day) in my back – completely fenced in – garden.
Before long a helicopter appeared directly above me, and it stayed there, rooted to the spot, for the whole time I (sort of) relaxed there.
It was not hovering very low in the sky, in fact I was actually still able to see some sky, but nevertheless it was there.
You know, the telescopes they must have these days with which to pick out distant landmarks etc.
It may or may not be relevant to mentioned that for my sojourn in my ‘private’ back garden I happened to be wearing a bikini.
Should Ms Sanchez and I brace ourselves to receive a fervent denial of any dubious goings on and an explanation as to the extended hovering in next week’s Hereford Times?
