HAVING spoken to many others, I feel that praise should be heaped onto Amey and its subcontractors for the magnificent way they kept the roads clear during the recent arctic spell.
A pity the same cannot be said for the company collecting, or rather failing to collect our rubbish. They failed to collect ours, until reminded, the week before the snow came.
They then completely failed, during the snow event, in spite of the fact that school buses and other heavy traffic was using the road so well cleared by Amey.
I have now been told by the council that recycling will now have to wait another fortnight for the next regular collection, a month from the last.
I wonder whether Amey would be interested in taking over the refuse contract?
