AN UNINSURED driver has been handed a hefty fine after crashing in Hereford.
Guntis Sujetovs was found guilty in his absence of driving without due care and attention, failing to stop to provide his details, failing to report a crash, and driving without insurance by magistrates in Worcester on June 16.
The court heard the 45-year-old had crashed his Saab 9-3 into a Ford Mondeo after failing to stop at the junction of Green Street and Harold Street on November 15.
Both cars came to a stop, but Sujetovs did not give his details to the other driver and left the scene.
He then failed to report the crash to police within 24 hours or as soon as was reasonably practicable.
Sujetovs, of St Owen Street, Hereford, was fined a total of £2,420, and handed eight penalty points. He must also pay costs of £110 and a £66 victim surcharge.
