A MAN who was fighting for his life after his quad bike was in collision with a car near Ashperton has since died.

The crash between a green Yahama quad bike and a white Fiat Sceicento happened on the A417 at around 12.30am this morning.

The quad rider, a man in his 40s, sustained serious head injuries and was taken to Hereford County Hospital, but was pronounced dead this morning.

Sgt Tim Hargraves, who is investigating the incident, said: "I would like to appeal to any witnesses to this incident to contact me, including anyone who saw these vehicles on the A417 in the early hours of the morning, in particular the quad bike."
