POLICE have launched an appeal after a digger was set on fire in Herefordshire.
Pete Butcher, police press officer, said the Takeuchi make was being used at roadworks in Mabels Furlong in Ledbury, at the rear of John Masefield High School and was secured at 6pm on Thursday January 15.
Shortly before 2am the following morning police and fire crews were called to find the digger ablaze.
It was completely destroyed by the fire.
Mr Butcher said that some residents heard a bang at around the time of the incident but no other noises.
