THERE will be changes to Hereford's buses next week as the Queen's Baton Relay for the Commonwealth Games comes to Hereford.
Yeomans Travel, which runs a number of services in and around Hereford, said Broad Street, King Street, Bridge Street and St Martin's Street would affect its buses on Tuesday (July 5).
The closures, between 2pm and 4pm, will affect services 39 to Peterchurch, 449 to Madley and 454 to Fownhope.

the following roads will be closed between 14:00 & 16:00 affecting our services 39, 449 and 454.
Yeomans said affected services will not be able to serve bus stops in the closed streets and will have to divert via the A49, Greyfriars Bridge and Victoria Street, in both directions.
The nearest bus stop to join the bus travelling from Hereford will be at Maylord Shopping Centre, and travelling to Hereford getting off at the Old Market bus stop in Newmarket Street.
The bus journeys affected are as follows:
39 Hereford to Peterchurch departing at 2.30pm
449 Hereford to Madley departing at 1.50pm and 2.50pm
449 Madley to Hereford departing at 1.26pm and 2.26pm
449 Kingstone School to Hereford departing at 3.25pm
454 Hereford to Holme Lacy and Fownhope departing at 2.30pm
The schedule of activities for the Baton's time in Hereford on Tuesday, July 5 includes:
- 2.45pm, the Batonbearers will carry the Baton from the Cathedral, onto King Street, Bridge Street, St Martins Street, St Martins Avenue over the Victoria Bridge, through the Castle Green then Quay Street
- The Baton is expected to arrive back at the Cathedral at around 3.30pm
Herefordshire Council says members of the public are encouraged to line the route, get involved with the celebrations and embrace the arrival of the Baton, taking the opportunity to experience the buzz of Birmingham 2022 in their community.

To help ensure safety of people involved with the celebrations and lining the route, West Street, Broad Street, King Street, Bridge Street, St Martins Street, Quay Street and part of Castle Street will be closed to traffic for a maximum of two hours between 2pm and 4pm disruption will kept to a minimum with roads being re-opened as soon as possible.
Parking restrictions will be in place along Bridge Street, King Street, Broad Street and Castle Street (up to Ferriers Street) from 12.30pm until 4pm.
