A HEREFORDSHIRE woman has hit out at a housing association for leaving debris scattered around her home for more than two months.

Angela Gething, from Tarrington, near Hereford, saw the wall and fence ripped from the edge of her garden during the winds of February 18 this year.

She has frequently tried to contact Platform Housing, who manage her property in Barrs Orchard, to fix the issue but is still waiting it to be fixed.

She said: "We had someone visit us from the company on February 21, three days after the incident, and he said that they will treat the problem with urgency."

"We were told not to use the garden, as the ground underneath would've been weakened after the wall collapse and the edge of the garden could collapse into the road with it."

Mrs Gething said that she has had complaints about the debris that is blocking the pavement and rubbish thrown into the garden as a result of their property being exposed to the road below.

She also said that pedestrians have had to walk in the road thanks to all the mess caused by the damage.

She said: "I completely understand everyone's frustrations, but there is not much myself or my husband can do about it until Platform come out and actually repair the damage.

"I live near the vicarage, and even our local vicar has been ringing the company on my behalf at various points to raise the issue."

Marion Duffy, chief operations officer at Platform Housing Group said : "We are really sorry to hear about this situation for our customer. The storm damage earlier in the year was particularly difficult.

"The debris will be cleared before the weekend and the work will start next week. We are in contact with the customer and have updated accordingly."
