SCOUTS - Three Scouts from 1st Golden Valley Scout Group have been awarded their gold Chief Scout’s Challenge Award at the group’s AGM. South Marches district commissioner Anna King was on hand to present the awards in front of assembled parents and leaders of Madley’s Beavers, Cubs and Scouts. Scout leader Vicky Turner was “very proud” of the achievements and hard work of Isaac and Reuben Beamond and Thomas Ward over the past three years. The goldChallenge Award is the highest award that can be achieved by those aged 10 to 14½. Anyone interested in Scouting in the Golden Valley area – a young person looking to join or an adult interested in volunteering – can call group Scout leader Simon Turner on 01981 251996.
