COFFEE MORNING - Betty Williams would like to thank everyone who came to her home, The Wain House, on Friday and everyone who generously donated a wide variety of goods for sale and cash donations, raising £310 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

ROYAL BRITISH LEGION - The next meeting of the Eardisley and District branch is today (Thursday) at the New Strand at 8pm. The AGM will be on November 1 at 7.30pm. A quiz night will be held in the village hall on November 3. The entry fee for teams of four is £10. Light refreshments will be served.

First prize is £40. All proceeds are for the Poppy Appeal. The service for remembrance on Sunday, November 11, will take place in St Mary Magdalene Church, followed by lunch in the village hall. Please contact the secretary to book tickets, costing £10.

METHODIST CHURCH - Preachers for the 11am services in November will be Rev S Stone (November 7), Rev Jon Chesworth (14), Miss A Sheppick (21) and Colin Spencer (28).

PACT MEETING - Members of Kington rural policing team will be at Eardisley Central Stores from 12.30pm-1.30pm next Thursday, October 11.

CHURCH - A fashion show will take place in St Mary Magdalene Church tomorrow (Friday), starting at 7pm for 7.30pm. In addition to the show by Jumping Ships and Adela there will be a variety of stalls. Tickets cost £6, which includes a glass of wine. Harvest festival is on October 12. The primary school will hold its festival at 2pm in the school, where everyone is welcome, and the evening service will be in the church at 7pm. On Saturday some members of Eardisley and Almeley church choirs will be taking part in the Hereford Diocesan Choirs Festival in Hereford Cathedral at 5.30pm. The family service is on Sunday and those wishing to take part in the Operation Christmas Child shoebox appeal will be able to collect the leaflet detailing contents etc.

EARDISLEY C@P - Eardisley C@P is a voluntary organisation which provides free access for the whole community to a number of facilities including an IT drop-in centre, broadband for users of the village hall, internet access at a local cafe, structured IT training courses, cinema, video records of community events and loan of a range of equipment including video and sound recording.

Thanks go to individuals and corporate bodies (Friends of C@P) who kindly make philanthropic donations which ensure these facilities are available, free of any charge, to all the members of the community.
