IT wasn't the easiest of weeks for the organisers of Shobdon Food and Flower Festival - constant rain and a waterlogged parking area.
But the decision to press on with the event has been rewarded with large crowds, enjoying a more or less dry Saturday.
Parking for the weekend was switched to Luctonians Rugby Club, where regular shuttle buses run to and from the festival.
And the impressive site boasts a plethora of fine local foods, from mouth-watering freshly baked breads, pastries, cakes, pies and pasties, to meats, cheeses smoked products, condiments as well as a large range of locally produced drinks - including of course wine and cider. Whether you're snacking on site or taking something home - there's plenty to choose from.
Add to that cookery demonstrations, craft and plant stalls and the resplendent Shobdon Church, unveiled after a refurbishment and you had all the vital ingredients of a great day out - with musical entertainment going on into the evening in the village hall.
So if you missed out today(Saturday), you can check it out tomorrow - Sunday.
See next week's Hereford Times for pictures and report.
