A cat seen leaping out of a moving car as has prompted the RSPCA to encourage animal lovers to microchip their pets.
Mika, a Bengal moggie, has been reunited with its owners in Credenhill after being reported missing.
The RSPCA says the pet was spotted jumping from a vehicle as it drove along Church Road in Clehonger earlier this month.
Mika was later found in a shed but couldn’t be re-united with his owners because he did not have a microchip.
It was only through sheer luck that RSPCA Inspector Mark Lewis spotted a poster appealing for the return of the cat that Mika found his way home.
“There is a very clear moral to this story which is having your pet microchipped is money well spent,” said Inspector Lewis.
“In this case, if Mika had been chipped I could have taken him home within minutes which would have avoided two nights of worry and distress for both Mika and his owners.
“I think Mika possibly jumped in someone’s car and once they noticed him they let him go.
“Thankfully though, this story has a happy ending with Mika’s next outing being to the vets to be chipped.”
