APPLE juice does not come much better than that produced on a farm near Ledbury.

Once Upon a Tree, based at Dragon Orchard in Putley, won the Vigo Trophy for the second year running at the Bath and West Show for its Spartan single variety juice.

Simon Day, who makes the drink, said: “To win this beautiful hand carved apple trophy for a second time is testament to the quality of the fruit grown in our area and reflects the care and attention the growers put into their orchards.

“All of our juices are from tree ripened, hand picked apples, pressed and bottled within hours of harvesting to capture the aromas and flavours of the variety.

“There are no secret techniques, just careful handling from tree to bottle - that is what makes them so special.”

The award follows the company winning best cider and best single variety cider at the International Cider competition held last month in Hereford.
