Hereford Market June 13 Prime Lambs - 3278: An excellent entry of very good quality lambs with a fantastic premium for the best quality for the Three Counties Show & Sale, with the champion pen making £126 (331.5p/kg) and reserve champion selling for £125 (347.2p/kg). Heavier commercial lambs sold well to £94.80 (50kg), £93.50 (48kg) and £92 (47kg).

Lambs need to be ‘good meat’ at present with leaner lambs a more selective trade unless at 30-35kg where ‘3/4 meat’ will suffice.

This trade is now 7p below last year on the week and it is hoped that the early gap will now close up.
