JUBILEE - There will be a full programme of events in the village. Admission is free at all events, the only charges being for drinks. It will start on Saturday at 2pm, with entertainment, bouncy castles and a tea for the children on Jubilee Green.
There will be a service of thanksgiving at 6.30pm on Sunday, at the church, and all those living within the Hop Church parishes are invited. Wine and light refreshments will be served after the service. On Monday, the concert by Tarrington Brass at the Lady Emily Hall, will be preceded by a barbecue at 5.30pm and followed by the lighting of a beacon fire on a hill above the hall at 10.15pm.
During the morning on Tuesday, the jubilee celebrations in London will be displayed on a big screen in the hall. The finale will be a community lunch in the Lady Emily Hall at 12.30pm on Tuesday, with the opportunity to be part of a parish group photograph at 2pm.
To help plan the catering for Tuesday, call Sally Willmott on 01432 890444 to obtain a (free) lunch ticket. Full details of the programme will be posted on village noticeboards and for any other queries, call John Tallis on 01432 890720.
