BOWLING - On June 2, the start of the jubilee celebrations, Weobley Bowling Club is having an open day. It starts at 10.30am-4pm. There will be stalls of cakes, plants, books and a tombola. There will be food and drinks available at a small charge, and try your hand at bowling with the help of our members and qualified coaches. No kit is needed as the club has shoes and bowls. PRIMARY SCHOOL - Summer bingo tonight (Thursday). Doors open 6.30pm for 7pm with caller Preb Bob King, raising money for the school. Please bring your own refreshments.

PLANT SALE - There will be a plant sale with bric-a-brac at Weobley Parish Church on Saturday from 10am to noon. Refreshments available. Proceeds go to church funds. A good selection of annual and perennial plants will be on offer.

JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS - Weobley is celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with a right royal bluegrass concert on June 2.

Village hall doors open at 7pm with the concert at 7.30 pm to midnight. There will be four top class acts – Ebeling and Quinn, The Wagon Tales, The Moretons and The Down County Boys. There will be a bar selling beer, wine, soft drinks and light snacks, and a raffle. Tickets cost £13.50. For bookings, email weobleymusic@hotmail.
