BUS - The new monthly bus service to Rosson- Wye departs from Sufton Rise for the frist time at 9.30am next Thursday, March 8.

The next parish council meeting is on Tuesday, 7.30pm, in Mordiford School Hall.

SHOP - At the end of February 2012 the shop at Mordiford will cease to be a tea shop as Lulu Young is leaving. Someone else is taking on the premises and the Post Office continues to open on Tuesdays 1pm-4pm, and Thursdays, 8.30am-10.30am. A survey will be done to find out what people want and it is hoped that a shop of some sort will evolve.

It will only work if local people support it.

CHURCH - Mordiford Parochial Church Council met at Sufton Court on February 23.

Services are now as follows. First Sunday in month: parish communion at 9.30am.

Second and fourth Sundays: morning prayer (BCP) 9.30am. Third Sunday: holy communion (BCP) 8am. The meeting was updated on the position with Mordiford School applying to become an Academy. The church fete will be at Sufton Court on July 7, 2pm-5pm and there is a fete meeting at Sufton Court on Thursday, March 8, at 7.30pm.

CLUB - Mordiford Church 200 Club needs new members. Forty per cent of all funds raised will be given back as prizes. For an annual sum of £26 you will be entered into the draw which is held on the first of each month. Based on 200 members (pro rata) the first prize is £90, second prize £60, third prize £30.
