Lucton double fatal - police confirm that the deceased are mother and son

POLICE have confirmed that the woman and boy who died in a crash in Lucton yesterday were mother and son.

They were in a red Vauxhall Corsa that was in collision with a tractor near Lucton School at around 10.10am.

Emergency services battled to free the mother and her three sons from the wreckage, but the eldest son, who was a front seat passenger, died at the scene.

The mother was flown to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, but was pronounced dead shortly after.

The other two boys were airlifted to Birmingham Children's Hospital with serious injuries.

One is currently critical but stable and the other is in a stable condition.

Post mortems are due to take place on Friday.

Witnesses are asked to call call Hereford police station on 101.
