SCAFFOLDING is starting to come down from Hereford Cathedral following the completion of restoration work on the principal pinnacles.
The £600,000 project that has been funded by English Heritage and Hereford Cathedral Perpetual Trust was started in April 2004 and is due to be completed in March 2007.
The Dean, the Very Revd Michael Tavinor, said: "We are immensely grateful to English Heritage and all those who support the Perpetual Trust. Without this external source of funding, none of this would be possible."
The scaffolding on the north side of the tower will have to stay for a little longer as the final few changes are made.
