PARISH COUNCILS - The Parish Councils for Ocle Pychard Group and Much Cowarne Group will meet in Burley Gate Village Hall at 7.30pm next Tuesday. Amongst the topics to be discussed will be a suggestion that, with the Bromyard Resource Centre closing down in March 2012, Stoke Lacy, Much Cowarne and Ocle Pychard Parish Councils should join together and purchase the Centre’s equipment. This would include the printer, the collator and various accessories including stencils, ink and paper and would help to ensure the continued publication of the local newsletters for the three parish council areas. Costs are expected to be minimal if a grant application is successful. All parishioners are welcome to attend. There will also be a discussion on the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012, and suggestions as to how it should be celebrated will be welcomed. Earlier in the evening at Stoke Lacy there will be a presentation on a Broadband Pilot Project. It is hoped that an update will be available during the Parish Council meetings. All parishioners are welcome.

FASHION EVENING- At 7.30pm next Wednesday, there will be an evening of fashion with Wye Styles at The Green, Felton. Tickets will be £5 at the door, and the price will include light refreshments and wine. All proceeds will go to St James’ Church, Ocle Pychard.

CHEESE AND WINE EVENING - The Much Cowarne PCC has arranged a free Cheese and Wine evening for Friday September 23, giving families in the parish a chance to meet each other, and giving new arrivals a chance to make themselves known and to find out how to help their community and their Church.

WORLD’S BIGGEST COFFEE MORNING - On Sunday September 25, Avril Morgan is taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of McMillan Nurses. The event will run from 10am to 3pm at 1 Brickyard Cottages, Moreton Jefferies. Coffee, nibbles, a fascinating raffle and good company are promised.

SMALL SEWAGE DISCHARGES - Ocle Pychard Group Parish Council has been made aware of a number of local concerns about the need for householders to register cesspits and similar structures coming under the description of ‘small sewage discharges’. The Environment Agency has confirmed that it is currently reviewing the reqirements. The Agency is currently not insisting on registration of small sewage discharges that meet certain criteria, and will not take enforcement action against septic tank owners unless a discharge has caused or is likely to cause pollution. The review will be completed by December 31, 2012, and maximum publicity will be given to any decisions made.
