THE organiser of an Indian cookery school in Mordiford is adding some spice to a charity event for soldiers.

Rayeesa Asghar- Sandys will bring her culinary skills to The Big Curry day being held at Hereford Racecourse on April 20.

The brains behind Indian Kitchen will hold three cookery lessons with limited spaces going for £10 each.

Funds will go to the ABF The Soldier’s Charity, which is marking this national event locally with a variety of races and family activities at a reduced cost.

In the meantime fellow community groups are invited to get involved and raise money for a charity which must double its fund-raising total as its commitments increase amid current conflicts.

“I encourage everybody to plan a Big Curry event now and seize the opportunity to support the bravest of the brave,” branch chairman Major-General Arthur Denaro said when the event was announced.

“We may or may not believe in the politics that send soldiers to war. What we can do is our best to support our mates, sons and daughters, partners and friends if they are wounded.”
