TALKS are underway over the sale of a Hereford secondary school’s playing fields.
Herefordshire Council has confirmed discussions are taking place after it received an offer for the Bishop of Hereford’s Bluecoat School’s fields.
The area, which could be sold for housing, is currently used for rugby, athletics and rounders, while Herefordians Cricket Club plays its Marches League matches on the site.
John Escott, a sports teacher at the school for 31 years and one of those responsible for Bishops’ rugby success, said it would cause “outrage” if the plans went ahead.
