Two women today appeared before a High Court judge at Worcester Crown Court charged over the death of a man whose body was found on a bonfire in Wormelow, Herefordshire.

Kirsti Windsor, aged 38, of Saddlebow Springs, Garway Hill, denies murdering 40-year-old David Langdon between August 9 and August 12, 2008.

Windsor and 31-year-old Katie Brown, of Wilkes Road, Orcop, deny a further charge of perverting the course of justice by attempting to destroy a body by burning.

Their trial, which is expected to last seven weeks, is due to start tomorrow. The defendants are on bail.

The body of Mr Langdon, a 40-year-old landscape gardener, was found on a fire near his home, Wood Cottage, Much Dewchurch.
