HARVEST LUNCH - Give thanks for the harvest at harvest festival on Sunday at 11am. To bring harvest gifts, drop them in at the church during Saturday morning. The library will be open then from 10am to noon, if you would like to borrow a book at the same time. The service will be followed by a harvest lunch, which will cost £5 for adults and £2.50 for school-age children. To help with catering, call Enid on 01981 550683 or Claire on 550462.
CONFIRMATION - 12 candidates from the Abbeydore Deanery parishes were confirmed at St Peter’s Church,Peterchurch, on September 26. They ranged in age from teenagers and two young mothers to an older churchgoer.
Bishop Michael Bourke, assistant bishop in the Hereford Diocese, who has retired from Wolverhampton to live in Little Stretton, conducted the service.
Rev Simon Lockett, Clare Dyson Anand Sodadasi presented the candidates from their parishes. The newly confirmed then took their first communion with their families and the large congregation, which filled the church to capacity.
