THE organiser of a skating competition in Hereford is planning to stage a bigger event after an earlier one was called off due to the bad weather.
Skaters, skateboarders andBMX riders from all over the country were due to take part at the city’s Holmer Road skate park earlier this month, but incessant rain meant the event had to be postponed.
“Because of the weather, only about 40 people turned up and none of the bands that were scheduled to play did,” said organiser Jason Marrett. “We did hold some skateboard and inline skating competitions, but we wanted to wait until later to have the bigger ones.
“We have rescheduled it for Saturday and hopefully it will be a bigger, with a lot of bands playing, more stalls, more hot food and more prizes.” The event has been supported by Hereford’s Christian Life Centre and Hope City Church and Ledbury Elim Church.
