IT was normal service resumed in thesoccersite.co.uk Malvern League last Sunday as both Oak Allstars and Cross Keys resumed their scoring, each notching up four goals after their previous week's goal drought.

League leaders Bell Inn 98 also scored four times to retain their place at the top of the table.

The day's seven league games saw a total of 31 goals scored, which took the total of league goals this season beyond 1,000. The 156 games played so far this season have seen 1,001 goals at an average of 6.4 per game, so if it's goals you want to see, Malvern League certainly supplies them.

Bell Inn 98 put in a below-par performance but were still too good for visitors Belmont Keys and despite some poor finishing seeing them miss numerous chances, they retained their leadership with a comfortable 4-0 victory.

Chris Grubb gave them the lead from the penalty spot and then the best move of a poor game saw Dan Herbert fire home. Ashley Jones made it 3-0 before Pat Locke blasted the ball home to complete the scoring.

Oak Allstars retained second place but only after coming from behind to snatch a late 4-3 victory at Morgan Aero 8. Dave Lawrence gave Morgan the lead only for Mark Toman to score a fine equaliser from a tight angle. James Argent regained the lead for Morgan Aero 8 and when Dave Lawrence made it 3-1 with 20 minutes to go, it looked like Oak Allstars' title hopes were going to receive a severe jolt.

Oak Allstars then pulled a goal back with a well-taken effort from Tim Rutherford before the league's top scorer, Jamie James, regained his scoring touch and netted twice, the first being his 50th goal of the season.

It put Oak Allstars 4-3 ahead with five minutes to go and despite all Morgan Aero 8's efforts, Oak Allstars held out to take the points.

Cross Keys visited Dynamo Ledbury and two goals each for Rob Cullen and Adam Derrington saw them win 4-1.

Talbot Head fielded a much changed team to that which saw them earn a point at Cross Keys last week and paid the price when they went down 2-5 at home to Keyz 04.

Andy Lancett regained his scoring touch for the visitors and notched up four goals, with the other Keyz 04 goal coming from Simon Clarke.

Talbot's scorers were Tony Scott and Andy Rogers.

Oak Misfits and Ledbury Rangers shared the points in an entertaining 1-1 draw at Ross Road.

A goalmouth scramble saw Richard Sykes give Oak Misfits the lead but a Jamie Phillips equaliser late on gave Ledbury Rangers a deserved share of the points.

Ganglands returned to winning ways with a narrow 2-1 victory over visitors Fromes Hill Reserves. Ganglands scorers were Paul Knight and Mark Hill with Fromes Hill Reserves' solitary response coming from veteran Nigel Dix.

The remaining game saw Fromes Hill beat visitors Keys Victoria 3-0 with goals from Ross Sweetman, Shaun Taylor and Joe Roche.
