Henley Town 1 Pegasus Juniors 1

A YOUTHFUL Pegasus side, without a single player over the age of 20, did well to pick up a point from their GLS Hellenic League Premier Division clash with a more physical home side.

Pegasus made a flying start and hit the woodwork twice in the opening 10 minutes.

Cory Hyde volleyed a Lewis Jones throw against the bar in the first minute and Chris Mortlock's shot from a Ben Price run hit the outside of an upright shortly afterwards.

Pegasus went on to dominate the first period and Bryn Watkins in the visitors' goal was never seriously troubled.

After the interval, Henley bundled the ball into the net following a free-kick but the score was disallowed for offside.

But, in the 68th minute, Watkins was forced to make his first save of the game, against Michael Davies in a one-on-one situation. The players collided during the incident and Davies was able to toe-poke the rebound into the net.

Ten minutes later, however, Pegasus were back on level terms when Paul Brown won the ball at the heart of the Pegasus defence and advanced before slipping a defence-splitting pass to Jamie Cuss who slid a shot past goalkeeper Jack Chapman.
