VILLAGE HALL - It is time to get out the flares, platform soles and wear a beehive hair-do again. Tomorrow (Friday, April 21) there will be a 60s dance in the village hall starting at 8pm. Music will be provided by the popular local group Late in the Day. Tickets are £3 and are available from Aymestrey House Garden Centre or from any committee member. There will be a licensed bar and refreshments will be available. The next quiz night will be on Friday, April 28, at 8pm. Teams of up to four people at £3 per team.

CHURCH SERVICES - There will be no service at Kingsland Church today (Thursday, April 20). On Sunday, April 23, Holy eucharist will be celebrated at Kingsland at 8am, at Eardisland at 9.30am, and there will be a sung eucharist service at Kingsland at 11am. On Sunday, April 30, there will be a benefice eucharist service at Aymestrey Church at 11am.

WOMENS' INSTITUTE - At the recent WI meeting, Peter Summers JP gave a light hearted talk about the day-to-day work of the modern magistrate. Refreshment hostesses were June Smith and Hilda Ashdown-Sharp. Members had a coach outing to Chester on Wednesday, April 19. Members are reminded that the May meeting has been put back by one week and will now be on Tuesday, May 16, at 7.15pm when the president, Hazel Thomson, who was a sister on the accident & emergency ward of a large London hospital, will give members a course in first aid.
