The Horseshoe Inn Companions have taken a tip from the Ledbury Reporter by choosing to raise money for the Prader-Willi Syndrome Association.
Last week, to mark the move by Coral to new premises in Bye Street, reporter Gary Bills-Geddes was invited to place a free bet of £50 to raise funds for a chosen charity.
His horse fell at the first, but Coral donated the stake for the charity.
Reading this story, the Horseshoe Inn Companions decided to hold a raffle for the charity at their 18th pub evening last Saturday at the Donnington, Broomsgreen and Ryton Memorial Hall.
A total of £96 was raised and Companion Penny Ely has phoned Ledbury family, the Irelands, with the good news.
Pat and Jim Ireland's grandson, Hamish, aged six, has Prader-Willi Syndrome and is facing a major operation in April to correct a double curvature of the spine.
The charity supports youngsters with the condition and their families, and also funds medical research.
