(aet - Bisley win 5-4 on pens)

PEGASUS bowed out of the GLS Supplementary Challenge Cup when they narrowly lost out to Division 1 East opponents Bisley in a penalty shoot-out at Old School Lane.

The sides were evenly matched with the full time score finishing 1-1, both sides scoring again in extra-time, and the result coming down to a solitary penalty miss by the home side.

With ball control difficult in the bitter easterly wind, there was little goalmouth action during a goalless first half. The second period was more eventful, Anthony Robbins having a header saved in the opening minutes after the home defence had been tested at the other end.

The home side was in the ascendancy for half an hour but failed to tuck away a number of chances, then Bisley scored with a controversial goal. Their captain appeared to use his hands to control the ball before rifling it past Bryn Watkins.

Pegasus responded positively to the setback and equalised with four minutes to go. Bobby Aldrich got his head to a Lewis Jones throw-in and Jamie Cuss applied the finishing touch.

The home team took the lead two minutes into extra-time, Cory Hyde on hand to turn in the rebound when the keeper blocked Aldrich's fierce long shot. The experienced Bisley side battled back to level and send the game into a penalty shoot-out.
