Police have named the man killed in a road accident near Leominster last Tuesday.

James Butcher, aged 31, of Bridge Street, Leominster, was killed when the blue Renault Clio he was driving left the B4361 at Nordan Bank.

The collision happened at 9.20pm as the car headed towards Luston.

The vehicle clipped a bank and overturned and Mr Butcher suffered multiple injuries from which he died.

A female passenger from the car was taken to Leominster Community Hospital for treatment for shock and whiplash injuries. The road was completely blocked by the collision and was closed into the early hours of the morning while the scene was cleared and collision investigators began their inquiries.

An inquest into Mr Butcher's death has been opened and adjourned.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw the accident or the Renault Clio as it travelled along the B4361.
