A Ledbury woman who set up a charity to help Romanian youngsters with HIV and AIDs is hoping a fundraising drive will pay for a party for 60 poorly children this summer.

Ann Brennan, of Playstation Day Nursery, hopes to travel out to Medias Visitor Centre with funds for the party, but also for essentials like food and clothing.

Money raised in Ledbury and taken to Romania has far more spending power over there.

On Saturday, the Ann Brennan Foundation's fundraising continued with a sale of children's toys and clothes in the Burgage Hall.

Miss Brennan said that several families in the Medias region have more than one child with HIV and AIDS. Under Communist rule, blood transfusions were common and seen as a boost for babies' immune systems. However, in some cases blood given was infected with HIV and AIDS.
