HINTON celebrated receiving the West Midlands League Division 1's December Team of the Month award with a victory, in spite of a spirited late flurry by the visitors.
Outstanding midfielder Simon Gwynne gave Hinton the perfect start when he set up a fifth-minute goal for Phil Beavan who collected a perfectly weighted through-ball to score at the second attempt after the goalkeeper parried his first shot.
Ross Semple and Gwynne went close as Hinton kept up the pressure and eventually the Khalsa defence cracked again as a quick free-kick from Phil Glover found Danny Johns in space to surge through and net from an acute angle.
Khalsa did not give up and hit back to reduce the arrears with a well-worked goal just before the break.
A purposeful Hinton bagged a third goal when Gwynne weaved his way to the bye-line to pull the ball back for veteran striker Beavan to fire home, and then collected a fourth with an excellent solo goal from Jodie Dawe.
As Hinton relaxed, Khalsa pulled a goal back, and, aided by the dismissal of Dawe for a second yellow card, made Hinton sweat with a third in injury time.
