HARD-working Andrew Griffiths has certainly put in the hours to earn the Herefordshire Sports Council's Coach of the Year award.
Griffiths is responsible for the tennis coaching programme for 172 junior members at Whitecross Tennis Club where he has one of his charges ranked in the national top 50. He also coaches around 40 adults at the club.
He also manages the Herefordshire and Worcestershire LTA Under-10 squad and works for the Herefordshire Sports Council on their Primary Sport Project. In this capacity he helped to bring tennis to 222 county primary school pupils in 2005 and introduced a further 238 to hockey.
