Hereford Bishop's School scrum-half Ollie Frost is one of three North Midlands players included in the England Under-16 training squad for a team development week at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire.
The England selectors have named a squad of 80 players after two recent Divisional Festivals at Castlecroft in Wolverhampton from which they will select their senior, A and B teams to play a series of internationals in April.
The team development week, which starts next Wednesday, will culminate in a series of matches on Sunday, February 19, with England B playing Hartpury College Under-17 at 10.30am, England A playing Gloucester Under-17 at 12 noon, and England playing Worcester Academy at 1pm.
m Luctonians' Ed Godsall is a member of the North Midlands squad to compete in the RFU National Under-20 Champion-ship this season.
He was named as a replacement to face Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire last weekend in the opening encounter but the game was postponed as NL&D had difficulty is raising a side due to injuries and player unavailability.
North Midlands will now play their first game in the competition against Warwickshire at Broadstreet on Sunday, February 19.
m Will Bolt landed a 35-metres penalty winner with the last kick of the game when Hereford 2nd beat Drybrook 15-12 in a friendly at Wyeside. Hereford trailed 12-0 with 10 minutes left but hit back with tries from Simon Sabel and Sam Ellis and a conversion from Bolt to level the scores and set up a dramatic finish.
Hereford Veterans lost 45-19 to Barwen.
