ONE of Hereford United's oldest and longest-standing fans has died at the age of 94.
Harry Barnham, known to friends and family as 'Joe', was a World War Two veteran of the D-Day landings and had supported United since 1939, rarely missing a game since those early days.
He was involved in many of the club's fund-raising activities over the years, including the 'Ten Bob' club and the 'Buy a Brick' campaign to build the ground in the late 1960s.
Joe's son Roy, who attended every game with his father, went to school with former Bulls' manager John Newman.
Roy, aged 71, himself a well-known figure sitting with Joe in the Merton Stand over the years, intends to carry on supporting United.
l The death has also been reported of Harley Price, one of the original and long-standing committee members of the Hereford Vice-Presidents Club.
