JOINT managers Sean Edwards and Darren Lynch both received awards when Westfields held their end-of-season presentation of awards dinner at the Left Bank Village last Friday.

The awards, sponsored by the Hereford Times, were presented by Andy Tipler, the managing director of Newsquest Midlands (South), Liz Griffin, the editor of the Hereford Times, and Jonathan Mace, the commercial manager of allpay.net.

Edwards was voted clubman of the year for his unstinting work while Lynch received an engraved carriage clock in respect of his work alongside Edwards. Lynch has stepped down from his post to concentrate on his work commitments.

Andy Tipler proposed the toast to the club and commented that their success went on and on, and how pleased he was that his company was to continue its association with them. Westfields chief executive Andy Morris welcomed the sponsors along with the guests, and also singled out the new management team of Mick Panniers and Paul Mann for a special welcome.

He referred to the success on the field, a top six finish in the Midland Alliance capped by the winning of the Herefordshire County Senior Challenge Cup. He also listed the wide use of the facilities at allpay.park. He then thanked everyone who contributed towards the off-the-field running of the club.

Edwards, who has now stepped up to become director of football, received his fourth clubman of the year trophy in his 16 years with Westfields.

Other awards were made to Carl Preece (youth player of the year), Paul Martin (Hereford Times Herefordshire League Premier Division player of the year), Paul Jones (young player of the year), Derek Craddock (Golden Boot award) and Wayne Hoskins (players' player of the year).

Craddock then picked up his second award of the evening when he was named Westfields player of the year).
