FORMER Hereford United manager Colin Addison has come to Westfields' rescue after the Midland Alliance club found themselves with an unexpected gap in their pre-season fixtures.
AFC Telford United had been due to visit allpay.park on Thursday, August 5 but they were forced to pull out due to other commitments.
Westfields, however, were quickly able to replace the Shropshire side with a visit from former Welsh League champions Barry Town who are now managed by Addison.
"Within five minutes of Telford cancelling the game, Colin Addison had agreed to fill the fixture so we are all well pleased," said Westfields chief executive Andy Morris.
Westfields begin their pre-season programme this evening (Thursday) by visiting Kington Town to contest the Kington Invitation Cup Final, kick-off 7.30pm.
