HEREFORD United will be aiming for lucky 13 as they head off to Peterborough for Saturday's FA Cup first round tie.

The Bulls have beaten league opposition on 12 occasions in the FA Cup, either side of their own 25-year spell in the league. But they will need to regain the form shown in their 6-1 win in the fourth qualifying round at Harrow Borough if they are to progress.

Leading the way then was hat-trick hero Steve Guinan whose efforts were rewarded with the FA's player-of-the-round title after collecting more than 24,000 votes - 73 per cent of the total - in an Internet poll. Fifteen-goal Guinan will be hoping to boost his tally at London Road where he should have the support of Paul Parry who is likely to return after an ankle injury.

Also set to be included is on-loan defender Tamika Mkandawire who has been given permission to turn out by West Bromwich Albion.

Several tipsters are backing United to cause an upset against a side winless at London Road after nine Second Division matches this season. But Posh have beaten Torquay in a home LDV Vans Trophy tie and progressed further in the competition with a 3-2 win against Brentford on Tuesday night.

Next Tuesday, United come up against opponents they have not encountered since an FA Cup tie more than 70 years ago when they visit Accrington Stanley for a Nationwide Conference fixture.

l Bulls boss Graham Turner has won his second Conference manager-of-the month award in three months. He shares the October award with Terry Brown (Aldershot) and Jimmy Quinn (Shrewsbury).
