IT was one in, one out at Edgar Street last week as the opening of the transfer window gave Hereford United's director of football Graham Turner the opportunity to start shuffling his pack, writes RICHARD PRIME.

On his way out was winger Jon Brady who joined Cambridge United on a free transfer after just six months at Edgar Street in which he was a regular starter on the right of midfield until replaced recently by teenager Andy Williams.

Replacing the 30-year-old Brady was Walsall winger Daryl Taylor who returns to Hereford after spending a month on loan at the club at the end of last season.

That stint was curtailed by a serious knee injury but the 21-year-old has recovered sufficiently well to have figured 10 times in the Walsall first team since his return in November.

Taylor has signed initially for a two-month loan spell but that may be extended until the end of the season.

He has already figured for Walsall in the LDV Vans Trophy and so will not be eligible for United's Northern Area semi-final at Macclesfield on January 24.

Guy Ipoua, meanwhile, has had the red card he received in United's Conference win at Exeter rescinded by the FA.

The Cameroonian was sent off for, in the eyes of the officials, making an obscene gesture, when all he was doing, in fact, was pointing to the name and number on Alex Jeannin's shirt after the former Exeter player scored the winner at St James Park.

"I couldn't understand the officials, and I was even more baffled when I saw it on television," said Turner. "To be fair to both the referee and the assistant, they asked for the incident to be reviewed - as we did - and the FA have come up with the right answer. There was no case to answer."
