FURNITURE made by Hereford craftsman Tim Hawkins is not the sort you take home in a box assured that a five-year-old could put it together only to find there is no five-year-old about when you need one!
His latest oak desk comes completed, took three months to make and is the centrepiece of the information desk at Hereford Cathedral.
It is the first time that Tim has produced work for the Cathedral, although he has worked in a number of churches.
Woodwork runs in the family for Tim, aged 45, who has been making furniture from oak and almost any other wood that comes to mind.
"My grandfather and great-grandfather were ecclesiastical woodcarvers and I have been doing it since I left Hereford Art College 25 years ago," said Tim, whose Fine Furniture Business is based in Bartestree.
