REASSURANCES have been given over fears that two electricity wind turbines could have a negative effect on the surrounding agricultural land.
Jane and Martin Bradney of anti-turbine group, Save our Scenery, voiced their concerns after a preliminary meeting about two proposed turbines for Aston Ingham, near Ross-on-Wye. They are also concerned the windmills could have a negative impact on agriculture.
But David Meechan from the Department of Trade and Industry - which is responsible for windfarms - says that the concerns of local residents will be considered throughout a very robust planning process.
"All proposed windfarms are subject to a very rigorous planning process including the completion of an environmental report. If this report raises any problems then these will be considered by the planners," he said.
"Everyone will have a chance to voice their concerns once the proposal reaches a council planning meeting."
