BEARD today, gone tomorrow!
Head of English at Haywood High School, David Carter can feel the breeze on his face for the first time in 20 years after allowing his pupils to get rid of his beard for charity.
At first unwilling to part with his whiskers, Mr Carter said pupils would have to raise an improbable £200, but students from year 11 and assistant head Tess Boyes managed to bring the money in within an hour and a half.
The money went towards a grand total of £2000 and still rising, that the school will be sending to charity.
